Le Pirate Beach Club, Gili Trawangan

Welcome to Le Pirate Beach Club, Gili Trawangan Island! Possibly the most vibrant and fun accommodation we have ever stayed in. After our eventful boat ride over to Gili T and a short trek to the opposite side of the island, we arrived to the vibrant beach huts and bushes of bougainvilleas of Le Pirate.

We were checked into our beach hut appropriately called “travel”. There are a few types of accommodation you can choose from however we went with the beach hut that had a balcony and hammock attached. Le Pirate takes things back to basics. No TV’s, no tea and coffee stations, just a clean and simple room with a wonderful outdoor bathroom. You can literally shower under the stars!

There’s so much to do for such a little island, and the hotel had more than enough things to keep us busy. My favourite was the night time movie screenings…. a giant screen is put in the sand on the beach opposite the hotel and you can grab a bean bag by the pool and watch whatever is showing that night. Our second movie night was interrupted by a storm, so we jumped on the hammock on our hut and watched the storm roll in instead.

Despite being the biggest of the three Gili islands, it still only takes roughly one and a half hours to get around the entire island on bicycle. Le Pirate have bikes you can rent which is a huge bonus as it really is the best way to get around. The style, the food, the service and the location are incredible… you have to go and have a look for yourself!

I was worried at first they may be a little too simple, but it was perfect! I realised you don’t need fancy rooms to have a great stay x

Lounge music playing in the background and drinks in the pool…. I couldn’t complain about one thing!

This looks absolutely amazing! I’m dying to visit somewhere more tropical and just explore beaches and relax by the pool for a change! Bougainvillea is my favourite too! SO pretty! And I never knew that the islands were that small!
