It’s been a good 11 years since I last visited Manly in Sydney’s northern beaches and I’m so glad I made the effort to catch the ferry back over on our latest trip to the city. Strolling aimlessly along the waterfront we made our way down the esplanade and found the stunning beachfront restaurant Manly Wine. Here’s some useless trivia for you all, put the word “Wine” in any title and you my friend have found yourself a new customer. Wicker chairs, white beams and the beautiful beachfront were the perfect mix for a quick little drinks break on our stroll. Bright interiors are totally my thing and I was suckered in with the bunting lining the front path.
Tim and I were a tad unlucky on our visit, in that as soon as we sat down the waitress came over with a look of distress on her face. We were told that the water pipes were about to turned off for maintenance which meant no food could be made for the next two hours and the coffee machine wasn’t going to be turned on. I only panicked for approximately 2 seconds before asking if the fridge still worked to which we were delighted to hear that “yes, the fridges aren’t affected”. Well crisis adverted everyone, as long as there was wine I happily sat for a few hours while Tim worked away on his laptop and I continued my patronage with a wine, or two, or quite possibly three but only because we couldn’t order anything else and we’d walked so far and all.
When the path of life leads you to wine, you must simply just take it as a sign, sit down, and have a sip.
