It was the pool that got me. A month ago (slack, I get it) Tim and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. Two whole years since the biggest party of our lives. We strategically had our wedding the day before a public holiday, meaning each year around anniversary time, we know we have a day off from work to ensure we can celebrate properly. With Tim starting his own business recently we knew this year we would lay low and stay local, so it was the perfect reason to check in to a local hotel I’ve been dying to check out and call it a celebration! Enter the fabulous Next Hotel, Brisbane.
I have a new appreciation for booking in and “staying local” in our home town. You get that escape feeling with the foreign bath supplies and complimentary robes, whilst still being close enough to everything you know to hit all your favourite spots and get a cheap taxi ride home. I was thrilled with our stay! We weren’t disappointed in the slightest and everything at this hotel was perfection. Not even the gang of girl bosses who took over the entire pool for the morning whilst trying to do a fashion shoot using the amazing pool as a background could ruin my good spirits. We waited, and waited, and waited, and after several hours the girl gang packed up in the rain and that was our queue that we could finally head outside. Let’s be real with one another, nothing says anniversary weekend away more than that enthusiastic couple enjoying a drink poolside in less than desirable weather, making the most of the night away and public holiday 😉
