The Weekend Escape

We’re currently taking a quick weekend escape and are running around Victoria before the craziness of Christmas takes over! Strategic planning to beat the crowds? Not exactly… the two-for-one flight deal really determined the time for us and we took it. Although the trip was slightly sporadic at first, I really like the idea of taking a quiet moment out before all the commitments of silly season.

We frequent Melbourne often, being Tim’s original home city and the town where so many great friends and family still live. However for this trip, we’re avoiding the city altogether and will be road tripping our way across all the towns we’ve never taken the time to visit.

I’m one of those bad Australians who has seen very little of all the various wonders that this country has to offer

In an attempt to tick some of these off, Great Ocean Road, Daylesford and Mornington Peninsula are all on the agenda which means hours of driving and the pure pleasure that is my singing in the car to classics new and old. At a time of year when everyone is so busy feeling like they need to “squeeze everything and everyone in before December 25th” I’m secretly pleased to have just a few nights away to take things a little more slowly and sing my little heart out to Beyonce during the drive.

Have a wonderful road trip! I hear Mornington Peninsular is gorgeous although I haven’t been myself.

Oh it was wonderful Nat… you should definitely go there. We drove around literally for two days, the coast is so gorgeous. Luckily we had great weather 🙂
